AAP Foundation Activities at the 2008 Annual Meeting

Fundraising activities at the meeting September 6-9 in Seattle support the education and research activities of the AAP Foundation.

Be sure to stop by the AAP Foundation booth during the AAP Annual Meeting at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. The Foundation will showcase the dividends that your investment in the specialty has paid. All events support the education and research activities of the Foundation. EV1: AAP FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT

Saturday, September 6
6:15 am bus departure, 7:30 am tee time
Echo Falls Country Club
Cost: $285 per person
Limited attendance event
Join golf chairman Bryan Frantz and experience a spectacular combination of scenery, championship golf, and world-class facilities. This Jack Frei-designed course features a par-3 18 with a magnificent island green framed by a cascading waterfall. The style of play will ensure fun for golfers at all levels. All golfers will receive tournament shirts, complimentary golf accessories, starter snacks and lunch, and a chance to win fabulous prizes for a hole-in-one! The registration fee is $285 per player and includes round-trip transportation. Deluxe motor coaches will depart from the Sheraton Seattle Hotel at 6:15 am.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet the 2008 Kramer Scholar and finalists and previous Scholars over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $85 each for this special celebration of the Foundation’s first named award and proceeds will benefit the Kramer Scholar Fund.

EV13: FASTER THAN FLIGHT 5K FUN RUN AND WALK

Tuesday, September 9
6:00 am bus departure, 7:00 am race start
Myrtle Edwards Park
Cost: $40 per person
Runners and walkers alike will enjoy Myrtle Edwards Park’s running path along Puget Sound. Participants will face spectacular views of the Sound and of Seattle’s skyline, and may see sea otters and other local wildlife. Runners will experience Seattle as the nation’s aviation leader as the flight crew warms them up to the theme from “Top Gun.” The registration fee is $40 and runners/walkers should pick up their race number and shirt from the Foundation booth in the Registration area. Participants will board buses at 6:00 am at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel for the 15-minute ride to the park.
