The Academy offers many programs that enable members to get involved in the organization's activities and network with colleagues.

Members have access to both an online and printed membership directory. The printed directory is updated and mailed to members annually. The online directory allows members to search for colleagues by last name, city, state, and zip code.

Published four times a year, the AAP News focuses on current topics and events that affect members and their practices, including:

Annual Meeting and Specialty Conferences

Each year's Annual Meeting and specialty conference combine solid professional programming with social events such as welcome receptions, breakfast and luncheon meetings, award banquets, and cocktail parties where participants interact in a relaxed setting. In addition, members enjoy a wide variety of optional tours in the company of their colleagues and family members.

AAP Foundation Social Events

Special events such as golf tournaments, fun runs, auctions, and raffles at the Annual Meeting and throughout the year provide networking opportunities for members and proceeds for the AAP Foundation's support of periodontal research, education, and public awareness.

Member E-mail Listserve

Members use this convenient tool for communicating with colleagues on a wide range of topics and issues. Those who e-mail the list to ask a question or initiate a discussion usually receive responses within a matter of hours. Most responses go to all listserve members, allowing everyone to benefit from the information shared.

Online Bulletin Boards, Classified Ads and Chat Rooms

Members all over the world can ask and answer questions, express opinions and share knowledge – without ever leaving their offices – on issues of common concern such as new products and therapies, clinical procedures, practice management, and insurance coding. Members can also post and respond to each other's Classified Ads regarding Practices for Sale, Positions Available, Positions Wanted as well as Miscellaneous Ads.
